The British Army Knife has been used by generations of brave British soldiers. It’s been carried onto the battlefield since the beginning of the last century. This fine knife maintains its traditional design and is still produced & purchased by the British Army today. All steel construction, each has a strong 2-1/4″ Sheepsfoot style blade, an old-style can opener, pointed marlinspike for rope work, and flat blade screwdriver. A sturdy utility tool as tough as the troops. [...]

These tools are pretty straight forward. Purpose built. Tough. There are four to choose from: 19-in-one, 17, 10 & 5-in-one. The business end is made of high tensile steel. The whole thing is held together by a lightweight T6 aluminum frame. The 17 & 19 both come with a spoke wrench and a chain tool that is 8, 9 or 10 speed compatible. An assortment of other wrenches, screw drivers & Torx T-25 round out the series. Warrantied for life, the only thing they don’t have is the, now cliche, multi-tool bottle opener.

Having a reliable water source is key to your survival. Lugging around jugs of water just isn’t an option. We fall in the category of “our gear must always work.” Katadyn’s Pocket is the toughest & longest lasting water filter available. Most water filters last around 200 gallons before cartridges need replacement. The Pocket uses a special silver-ceramic filter that will last up to 13,000 gallons. Though, you’ll probably want to add an inline carbon filter ($12) to reduce chemicals and improve taste. Overall, it’s extremely well designed; built like a tank – most last decades. Don’t mess around with cheaper filters – get one that works when you need it and lasts forever.

It may look a little odd, but this high-powered, hand held LED torch is anything but. Your typical car headlight puts out around 700 Lumens. The new TK45 puts out up to 760 Lumens – on AA batteries. It could literally take over for a busted front headlight without a problem. Though you won’t want to use its strobe, SOS, or warning flash modes. All Fenix flashlights are waterproof & digitally regulated to maintain consistent brightness. This ensures maximum battery life at each of the four brightness levels.

In the quest for the next YouTube hit you need to change it up once and while. That includes the camera angle. And while point-of-view shots are great, they’re usually plagued by the too-quick head movements of the cameraman or extreme frame shakes during the good part. The GoPro is now commonplace at almost all events and has a huge assortment of mounts – from your wrist to roll bars & seat posts. The new chest-mount option eliminates the “helmet-cam shake” while capturing more of your knees & skis on the slopes, or your bike frame & handlebars. Great when you want to get that “lower than the helmet” action. As you can see, one size fits all… even over your cold-weather gear. [...]
